Funding is to replace outdated mechanical ventilators that are 15+ years old and lack the required technology for today’s medical requirements. Transport ventilators provide ventilatory support for patients who cannot breathe on their own, or who require assistance maintaining adequate ventilation because of illness, trauma, congenital defects, or the effects of drugs (e.g., anesthetics). The goal is to acquire new transport ventilators for placement on two ALS ambulances. These funds includes education and training for staff to support their use in the field.
